( the summoning of a servant is never something to be taken lightly, regardless of the servant's class or speculation about their legend; anyone can play at being a mage even if they don't come from one of the major families β€” extensive and morally unnecessary measures end up being taken when that sort of thing happens, but we're just going to move right along and keep making our way to the point β€” and even if the servant materializes with what can pass as basic enough knowledge of what they're coming into when it comes to the war itself …

when you come into this from a period as far back as this one, there's going to be a whole hell of a lot of explaining to be done once things fully get underway. that being said!

the summoning of servants is, generally speaking, a pretty majestic sight to hold. it all comes down to the effort put into finding ( or, in this one's case, even if he doesn't know it yet, stealing ) the perfect relic, to have some manner of control over what servant is summoned to begin with, anticipation and apprehension tangling into a ball of nerves until it's all over and done with, until your new servant is standing proudly in front of you, ready to accept every whim you might think to ask β€”

or. in the case of one ( 1 ) gojo satoru, a tall mean nearly folded in half where he sits with legs crossed, one elbow propped up on the bend of a knee and regardless of the fact there is a solid black covering over his eyes, regardless of the assumption that there's no way in any hell anywhere that he could see what's going on around him, the whole of his attention is already squarely trained on the girl standing directly in front of him. probably looking equal parts unsure, curious and … maybe a little bit underwhelmed? he's not sure about that last one, but it does find him lifting a hand to peek from beneath the very edge of the blindfold, enough to give him a glimpse of what's in front of him. satisfying, that, and more than enough to bring a little chuckle from the back of his throat as he lets the edge of fabric pop back into place.
)

Oh, you're cute. ( he says in what could be described as a sing-song voice if you were to think about it long enough, but you're not going to have time, because near-immediately after he brings both of his hands together in a soft clap and pulls himself up from his folded position. )

And my master, so maybe I shouldn't call you cute right from the start, but … ehhh, what's done is done. No harm in it, right? ( have you noticed that he sometimes doesn't know when to shut his mouth? that's going to be a regular occurrence going forward, so … you might want to think about getting used to it. )

So, do we want to do a proper introduction, or do you like a little bit of mystery in your Grail Wars?

( and it begins. )

[ Growing up with virtually no parental support or guidance beyond the nurturing of her big sister, Megumi is no stranger to occasional disregard for the law from time to time. Stealing was necessary when the funds would run dry, because it meant that they would eat. Taking from those who had more than they did was of no weight on her conscience at all. It was probably a natural progression that, upon learning about her own gift, and the ceremony her extended family would practice every few decades, Megumi would want to get involved. Tsumiki fell to an unknown curse just a year prior, and she's heard stories about how the champion of the war could have any wish granted. For Megumi, there's really no choice in the matter. She had to steal the relic the Zenins were guarding. It would give her the best chance at saving her sister.

There was little she knew about the man of legend tied to that relic. Pressed for time, and wanting to enter the war as soon as possible, sitting down to study the artifact was simply out of the question. Suffice to say, she had no idea who - or what - was going to come out of it all, and it's a laughable gamble to take after putting her life on the line to swipe the item from a coffer in the Zenin treasury.

What does emerge from the burst of blue lightning is a tall, incessantly talkative man, siting there cross-legged in the middle of her modest living room like he had no care in the world. He had the gall to comment on her ... appearance, even? Megumi frowns at that. ]

What? [ 'Cute'? No. She doesn't appreciate that compliment at all. She could continue to protest that, but she decides to get right down to business. ]

We can't work together if we don't know anything about each other. Whose spirit have I conjured?
